P.S. There’s a big announcement at the end of this one 👀
This month I wanted to highlight something that was not in my bingo card for 2026 — becoming a BTS fan (Army). For those of you that do not know, BTS is a K-pop group with 7 guys from South Korea who are amazingly talented. It all started with their comeback concert on Netflix….
At first I watched it from my phone while I was cleaning the house the day it came out on March 21st and thought, oh I actually like this music.
Then I rewatched it again on our TV (properly) a few days later and thought to myself…why are there so many of them? Who are they?
And so I started googling them while I was watching the concert and was like…okay, I know their names now and a little bit about them….
What finally got me was watching the BTS: The Return documentary on Netflix. For me, after watching a documentary about a group and learning more about them as people vs artists really gets to me (which is what happened for me with Blackpink and Katseye as well).
Anyway, after that documentary, I fell into a BTS spiral… and here’s the trajectory of how I became a BTS fan, in case you want to take a similar journey😂 🤦🏻♀️:
- I listened to their new album, Arirang, on repeat!
- I watched their Hot Ones episode that dropped on April 9th, plus their guest appearance and performances on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon..so good!
- I watched Jin’s Netflix show — Kian’s Bizarre B&B — which made Jin my bias (a spot he currently shares with Jimin)
- I started watching shows like Run BTS and Are You Sure? that my friends who were already Army recommended. And there are so many more!
- I watched their Arirang Tokyo AND Busan live concerts in theatres
- I listened to their entire discography from the very first release to the latest — and got through all of it!
- I started learning their dance choreography — and I haven’t done any choreographed dancing since college lol
- Most recently, I went to a BTS Night dance party at the House of Blues and practiced that learned choreography hahaha
- I also bought the limited edition BTS Oreos (super tasty) and Jin Tuna limited edition (good protein source, lol)

Fast forward to May – I luckily got VIP tickets through the Ticketmaster lottery for day 3 of their Las Vegas shows at Allegiant Stadium where I had a great time meeting other Army and seeing BTS live for the first time! BTS were of course amazing and the fans just made the experience even better. I have not been part of a fandom like this before…so many fans (including us) had freebies to hand out and everyone was incredibly nice and sweet.

Fast forward again to today, I have tickets to the Baltimore day 2 show that I bought from a fellow Army that I met in Vegas (and we are going together too!). And I plan to hopefully buy day 1 tickets while I’m out there to ideally get a last minute deal 🤞
After reading this..you may think, wow she’s crazy. Do not worry, I too also think that and I thought to myself…I haven’t felt like this since I was a teenybopper in love with NSYNC and BSB. What sorcery is this?!? BTS has taken over and I’m a grown adult lol. But, there is really something about them that is special and I love them and the army fan community they’ve built!
So much that…
✨ Big Announcement!
…fast forward with me one more time into 2027: myself and Anya (travel advisor at VS1 Travels who is also Baby Army aka new fans of BTS) are planning a BTS Army Meetup group cruise trip, and we are SO excited!

Borahae (보라해)!!! 💜
